Mindy Niles, ECMA Executive Director; Founder/Director, Encore Academy
Mrs. Niles received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has been a member of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Woodwind Quintet. Mrs. Niles has taught instrumental music in the public schools and has served as an adjudicator for the Maryland All-State Bands and Solo & Ensemble Festivals. She performs frequently as a freelance oboist and is a member of the Mistral Woodwind Quintet. Mrs. Niles is adjunct faculty at McDaniel College and Carroll Community College and maintains a private studio in Carroll County. She currently resides in Hampstead, Maryland with her husband and has two grown daughters.

Andrew B. Spang, Camp Band Director
Mr. Spang earned his Bachelor’s of Music from The Boston Conservatory of Music and Masters of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. Mr. Spang currently serves as the Director of Bands at Folly Quarter Middle School where his bands and jazz ensembles consistently earn Superior ratings at local and state festivals. Folly Quarter boasts two jazz ensembles and a jazz combo that rehearse and perform throughout the school year. In 2008 Mr. Spang was named the Maryland “Outstanding Music Teacher of the Year” by the Maryland Music Educators Association. Mr. Spang performs regularly as a member of the Lyric Brass Quintet and American Studio Orchestra. He has served as guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of Maryland and beyond.
Matthew Boggs, Camp Orchestra Director
Mr. Boggs received his Music Education degree from Peabody Conservatory and his Masters in Educational Technology from Loyola University. Since 2006, he has been a music educator in Howard County Public Schools where he currently is the Orchestra Director at Clarksville Middle School. Outside of being a middle school orchestra teacher, he has been a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician for various county, regional, and state orchestra as well as solo and ensemble festivals.
Bill Rose, Camp Orchestra Assistant Director
Laura Baker, Camp Chorus Director
Ms. Baker is a National Board certified teacher who is the Director of Band and Strings at Ilchester Elementary School in Howard County. Ms. Baker graduated from The Boston Conservatory, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Music Degree with an education major and a clarinet concentrate. She received her Master’s degree in Education from National University. She holds a certificate in Dalcroze, Orff, and Kodaly from Towson University. She is the former vocal music teacher at Robert Moton Elementary School in Carroll County, where she taught 8 years before deciding to stay at home with her children. After five years at home, Ms. Baker returned to public school teaching in 2005. Ms. Baker lives in Westminster, Maryland, with her husband, Andrew Spang, son Benjamin, and daughter Sophie.
Tasha Maglocci, Camp Chorus Director
Mrs. Maglocci received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Music from Indiana University. In 2001, she completed her post graduate work at Loyola University, earning all three levels in Kodály Certification. Mrs. Maglocci currently teaches at Ilchester Elementary School in Howard County. She has instructed at the Children’s Chorus of Maryland, and at Loyola University with the American Kodály Institute in the Masters program. She has been a featured Maryland Gazette’s Top Teacher and has been nominated for both the North Arundel Chamber of Commerce Teaching Award and the Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year Award. She currently resides in Columbia with her husband and daughter.
